LUNENBURG - The Lunenburg and District Fire Department marked Fire Prevention Week 2025 with a focus on lithium battery safety, community education, and engagement with young firefighters.

NEW GLASGOW/LUNENBURG - Lunenburg’s Town Crier Stephen Findlay earned a second-place finish at the international town crier competition held in New Glasgow Sept. 18-21.

CHESTER - A significant residential development is being proposed for the Chester Hills neighbourhood, with Halyard Developments Ltd. seeking approval to build 134 units across three multi-unit buildings on Stanford Lake Road.

SOUTH SHORE - Dalhousie University has opened a satellite medical school in Cape Breton for medical students who want to have a rural practice, giving priority to rural based students. There are currently two South Shore students in Cape Breton and two more at their main campus in Dalhousie.
