On May 3 I went to Greenfield for a breakfast at the Greenfield Fire Department and I was surprised to see 30 chimney swifts, 60 tree swallows, a few barn swallows and two cliff swallows there.

All about the northern shoveler

After making several attempts to see a northern shoveler this year, I was successful. I was fortunate to see five of these ducks at the Port William Sewage Lagoons on April 19.

The Lunenburg Christmas Bird Count took place on Jan. 1, 2025. The weather was difficult with strong winds and heavy fog for most of the morning and then around 14:00 heavy rain for the rest of the day.
