BRIDGEWATER – The South Shore Jr. B Lumberjacks had a busy, but successful week, winning two of three games and have just three games remaining.

BRIDGEWATER – The South Shore Jr. B Lumberjacks earned a 6-5 victory over the division-leading Capstone Colts Jan. 24 in what could be described as a “barn-burner.”

LIVERPOOL – The stage has been set for the third annual George Fletcher Memorial Tournament that will be held Feb. 13-16 with a full 18 teams competing in four age categories.

COOKVILLE – The second annual golf tournament held to raise money for Paws Fur Thought has taken on a local connection for the 2026 event. The tournament this year that will take place on June 27 at Osprey Ridge Golf Course will be the Jim Davis Memorial Golf Tournament.

BRIDGEWATER – The South Shore Jr. B Lumberjacks pulled off a massive trade on the weekend.

UPPER NORTHFIELD – When the winter Olympics kick off on Feb. 6 in Italy, Canadians across the country will tune in, and one viewer will be paying closer attention than most. From Mount Allison University in New Brunswick, 18-year-old Ella Gibson will be watching with a dream of one day representing Canada on the Olympic ice track.

BRIDGEWATER – Two members of the South Shore I.C.E. Storm were ‘development-carded’ by the national para hockey team this past summer.

BRIDGEWATER – The South Shore Jr. B Lumberjacks dropped their first game of 2026, a 4-2 loss at home Jan. 3 against the Eskasoni Jr. Eagles who sit on top of the Sid Rowe division with a 14-7 record.

BRIDGEWATER – The Park View Girls’ Div. 1 soccer team was loaded with talent this season, three years in the making, and that led to a second straight provincial championship in Sydney over the Nov. 7-9 weekend.

PLEASANTVILLE – Park View graduate (2025) Zoe Mosher recently earned a spot on Team Canada that will compete in the World Athletics Cross Country championships in Tallahassee, Florida next month, in the 6 K event.

LIVERPOOL – Dec. 6 was slated as Curling Day in Nova Scotia, a good reason to celebrate the great game.
