MILL VILLAGE - The Southwest Nova RCMP Major Crime Unit has upgraded a charge to Second-Degree Murder after the death of the victim of an assault in Mill Village.

BRIDGEWATER - A man has been arrested and is facing charges following an investigation into an armed robbery on the morning of April 21.

PINE GROVE - The Southwest Nova RCMP Major Crime Unit (SWN MCU) is continuing its investigation into the homicide of Donny Lohnes and is appealing for anyone with information to come forward by releasing a video featuring his family.

LIVERPOOL - Queens Neighbourhood Co-operative Housing Ltd. (QNCH) has asked Region of Queens council to allow them to push back the start of construction on a planned 30-unit affordable housing development off Lawrence Street until Aug. 31, 2025.

BRIDGEWATER - Since the COVID-19 pandemic, town council has approved the construction of 2,000 new housing units, with another 3,000 more in the queue and ready to come online in the next 10 years. Those numbers are impressive but could be daunting when you consider that those new units will effectively double the town’s current 4,000 units.

SOUTH SHORE – A decision by the South Shore Regional Centre of Education (SSRCE) to remove certain flags from South Shore schools seems to have taken the government of Nova Scotia by surprise and has groups across the region worried about the impacts on inclusion and diversity.
