Cellular services in the province expand

PROVINCE - The Nova Scotia government's plan to expand cellular service to thousands of Nova Scotians in poor reception areas has reached another step forward with new towers now active at three sites in southwest Nova Scotia and a site east of Halifax. PROVINCIAL - According to the National Child Exploitation Coordination Centre, (NCECC) in 2022 Nova Scotia had the second highest rate of the provinces for people accused of online sexual exploitation of minors, at seven accused per 100,000. Which is higher than the national rate of five accused per 100,000.

FEDERAL-PROVINCIAL - The federal government has created a program that makes exploring the history of Canada more affordable for Canadians and non-Canadians. This program will also give young people the opportunity to explore the province of Nova Scotia at a discounted rate.

LIVERPOOL – At the June 24 Region of Queens Municipality regular council meeting, council approved a motion to submit an application to the Nova Scotia Regulatory and Appeals Board (NSRAB) for an increase to water rates over the next three years.
