PROVINCE - Nova Scotia residents are seeing some big but welcome changes in how they recycle and the good news is, most people won’t have to change a thing at the curb.

LUNENBURG - After more than three years of telling local stories in a very local way, The Lunenburg Barnacle is officially coming to an end and the community gathered to say goodbye.

MAHONE BAY – Council has taken a major step toward bringing more affordable, mixed-income housing to the community, approving a plan to conditionally transfer town-owned land to the Mahone Bay Community Land Co-operative for just one dollar.

LUNENBURG - Lunenburg County’s Go Rock Radio is celebrating another big moment on the national stage after snagging the “Sound of Success” award for the second year in a row at the Broadcast Dialogue Canadian Radio Awards.

PROVINCE – What started as a small Halifax phone drive has grown into a full-blown provincewide effort, and this year, the Phones for the Holidays campaign is aiming higher than ever. The goal is to collect and refurbish 1,000 used phones and pair each one with a prepaid plan so people experiencing homelessness, housing insecurity, or gender-based violence can stay connected when it matters most.

SOUTH SHORE – A whole lot of hardware was handed out recently at the second annual Lunenburg Queens Business Collective Business Excellence Awards Night Nov. 20 at the Best Western in Bridgewater.

MAHONE BAY – Deputy Mayor Colin Kingsmill, is stepping away from his role on town council, citing personal commitments. That decision means a change in council leadership and the need for the town to hold a by-election in the coming months.

MAHONE BAY – Each year at the end of November, this picturesque little town turns into a Christmas wonderland.

CHESTER – The village of Chester will be full of Christmas cheer on the weekend of Nov. 28-30 with so many things to do and see for all ages to enjoy.
