BRUHM

Age 85, of Bridgewater, Lunenburg Co., passed away on Thursday, November 13, 2025, at Hillside Pines with family by her side.

Born in Bridgewater on May 3, 1940, she was the daughter of the late Everette and Mary (Veinot) Zwicker. She is survived by her children, Doreen McCarthy (Vaughn Robar), Donna (Greg) Knox, Dale Bruhm (Cathy Viau), and Donald Bruhm; siblings, Betty (Mervin) Meisner, Faye Frank, Paulette Conrad, Carolyn (Robert) Wentzell, Garnett (Judy) Zwicker, and Don Zwicker; grandchildren,  Ryan ( Breanne), Laura ( Ryleigh), Carly (Ryan), Jenna, Grace ( Ben); great-grandchildren, Oaklyn, Maverick, Landon, Madison ,Mason; and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her loving husband of 54 years, Percy; brothers, Earlen and Keith; and daughter-in-law, Johanne Bruhm.

Myrna will be remembered for her radiant smile, warm heart, and love of community. Affectionately known as “Miss Myrna,” she spent many years as a beloved playground supervisor at West Northfield Elementary and served as long-time treasurer of the West Northfield Twirlettes. 

A talented home baker, she filled her home with the comforting aromas of fresh bread, donuts, and cookies. She enjoyed knitting, quiet evenings with her TV programs, and simple outings with Percy and Donnie (especially chatting with the locals at the Plaza). Family gatherings were her greatest joy, and she cherished every moment with her children and grandchildren. Known for her love of purple, she brought colour and kindness wherever she went.

A memorial service was held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, November 19, 2025, at Sweeny’s Funeral Home, 35 York Street, Bridgewater, Rev. Willis Ott officiating. Reception following. Donations in her memory may be made to Hillside Pines Home for Special Care or a charity of choice.
