CONRAD

CONRAD, David Ross, 82, of Upper LaHave, passed away on January 12, 2026, in South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater. Born in Bridgewater, he was a son of the late Murray and Rita (Crouse) Conrad.

David was raised and lived in Upper Lahave, where he enjoyed sailing, (which he started as a young man), ice boating and motor boating. He had his own contractor and carpentry business, and that work became his life. He was self-made and self-taught in this vocation. He had a keen interest in forestry, milling and woodwork. David also took great pride in his house and property, where he loved to live and work on. Most evenings, he would relax by taking in the beauty and peace of the LaHave River.

David is survived by his children Matthew, Halifax, Christina, and her daughter Emma, Bridgewater, and Michael (Veronica Garber), Blockhouse and their children Ashley, and Laura; brother Robert (Margaret), Kanata, ON; first wife, Janet Oickle. He will also be deeply missed by his dog and sidekick, Charlie.

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his sister Katherine Young and second wife Sylvia.

Family would like to extend thanks to the doctors, nurse and staff at the South Shore Regional Hospital, and deep gratitude to the many neighbours who helped him over the years, especially his next door neighbours, the Bowles family.

Memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, January 31, 2026, at R.A. Corkum Funeral Home, Wileville, Reverend Willis Ott officiating. Memorial donations may be made to SHAID, or the Dayspring and District Fire Department.
