COOK

December 13, 1948 - January 31, 2025

With great sadness, the family announces the passing of Judy Cook (Corkum) at the age of 76 at South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater.

Born in Bridgewater on December 13, 1948, she was the daughter of the late Fenton and Frances (Tanner) Corkum of Tanner Settlement.

As a teenager, Mom worked for a short time at National Sea Products in Lunenburg before dedicating her life to raising her family in Auburndale. She really enjoyed and always looked forward to her time playing in the family band Kinfolk. Mom always put her family and others first, even at the expense of herself, and continued caring for everyone right until the end.

Judy is survived by her sons Tony (Denise), Hebbville, Jimmy (Kim), Windsor; beloved grandsons Dr. Ryan Cook, Josh and Brandon Cook; brothers Reggie Tanner (Odette), Wayne Henniger (Ginny), Bernie Nickerson, Rickey Corkum; her very close cousin Teena and goddaughter Jennifer; as well as many special nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Norman "Sonny" Cook; her brother Gary; and a son in infancy.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Du Toit, Dr. Salomon, Paula with palliative care and the emergency department staff at South Shore Regional Hospital for their exceptional care during her final hours.

Cremation has taken place and a celebration of life will be held at Royal Canadian Legion Branch 24, Bridgewater on Sunday February 16, 2025 from 1:00pm-3:00pm. Private family interment to follow.

Memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or LungNSPEI.
