DOREY

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Cheryl Dorey, 69, of Mahone Bay, Nova Scotia.

Cheryl lived a life defined by quiet independence and simple pleasures. She found great joy in the comfort of her home, often spent immersed in her favorite television shows, a challenging game of solitaire, or a stack of word search puzzles. Among her most cherished memories were the years she spent living in Maplewood, following the passing of her grandmother, a place that held a special corner of her heart. Those who knew her in her younger years will fondly recall her deep devotion to her beloved Siamese cat, a constant and adored companion.

Cheryl is survived by her mother, Wilma (Faulkenham) Dorey; her brother, Geoff Dorey; and nephews, Jason (Beth) Dorey, and Robert Morrison. She was predeceased by her father, Cecil Dorey; Older sister, Sharon Dorey; and niece, Sarah, in infancy.

The family extends sincere thanks to the staff at MacLeod Cares Mahone Bay Nursing Home and those who have offered support and kindness during this time.

In keeping with Cheryl’s private nature, there will be no formal funeral service. For those wishing to honour her memory, donations may be made to the local animal shelter, SHAID.

Cremation has taken place under the direction of R.A. Corkum Funeral Home, Wileville.
