EISNOR

March 15, 1959 – February 27, 2026

It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Michael Wayne Eisnor of Indian Point, at the age of 66.

Born on March 15, 1959, Michael was the son of the late Edward and Anne Eisnor. He was also predeceased by his Uncle Freddy Westhaver, and by his grandparents Ernest and Marguerite Eisnor and Linwood and Frances Westhaver.

Michael was a man of the great outdoors. He took great pride in his vegetable and berry gardens and generously shared his harvest, especially during his weekly visits with his Aunt Janet, which meant a great deal to him. In the winter months, he enjoyed cross-country and down-hill skiing and could often be found on his cherished tractor, snow plowing and snow blowing for neighbours, always willing to lend a hand. During the summer, he loved kayaking, scuba diving and spending time on his sailboat and being out on the water.

Michael’s most recent employment involved work at Saputo, and Advocate Printing (South Shore Bulletin) He retired last year and had been looking forward to many years of enjoying retirement

Hockey was an important part of his life. He played for many years and valued the friendships he formed through the game. It was while playing hockey that he passed away peacefully, on the ice he loved.

Michael found comfort and companionship in his beloved cat Benji, and treasured his many close and longtime friends. He was loyal, thoughtful, and quietly kind.

He is survived by his sister, Deborah Eisnor (Brad Scanlan), his niece Jillian (Bruce) Mc Kinley and nephew Evan Eisnor; his Aunt Janet, Uncle Donnie & Aunt Beverley, and Aunt Elaine; and many cousins in Canada and the United States.

The family would like to thank the staff at South Shore Regional Hospital for their empathic care and support.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Mahone Funeral Home. A celebration of Michael’s life will be held at a later date and details will follow shortly.

Mike was such a bright and happy spirit, always willing to lend a hand and share a story. Our thoughts go out to his family. Mike will be very much missed in this world. - South Shore Bulletin staff members
