With grieving hearts, the family of David Creighton Emeneau, aged 93, of Lunenburg, announces his passing on Saturday, July 26, 2025, at Shoreham Village in Chester.
Born in First Peninsula, David was the son of Fred and Hilda (Tanner) Emeneau. He lived a life marked by dedication and hard work, spending many years as a general contractor. His craftsmanship and attention to detail were a testament to his character, reflecting the pride he took in his work.
David attended the one-room schoolhouse in First Peninsula and then the Lunenburg Academy. After high school he joined the Royal Canadian Air Force and served for five years. He returned home and worked for Lunenburg Foundry and Atlantic Bridge Company where he met his wife, Geraldine (Daniel). In 1965, he and his partners founded D & E Industries Ltd., which he ran until 1984. He then devoted his time to Trident Construction Co. Ltd. until retiring in 1993.
In retirement he enjoyed spending time sailing at the cottage on Big Mush-a-Mush, his involvement with the South Shore Ship Modelers Guild (of which he was a founding member), Habitat for Humanities and numerous other hobbies.
David is survived by his loving wife, Geraldine, and was a proud father to his daughter, Dena, of Lunenburg and son, Chris, of Halifax. He is also survived by his sister, Anita, of First Peninsula. David cherished the moments spent with his family and friends.
In addition to his parents, David was predeceased by his sisters, Evangeline and Audrey, and his brothers, Franklyn, Elmer, Eric, and Rod.
