Age 89, of Bridgewater, Lunenburg Co., passed away on Saturday, December 27, 2025, in South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater. Born December 25, 1936, in Tatamagouche, she was a daughter of the late Linton and Ella McBurnie.

Margaret was a homecare worker for many years, helping and assisting many patients in their home. Her passions were gardening, dancing, cooking and baking and was most famous for her pies.

Surviving are her children, Brenda Prosser (David Murphy), Red Deer, AB.; Laura (Wayne) Bolivar, Baker Settlement; Danny Chambers, Tatamagouche; Allan (Mary Lou) Chambers, Dartmouth; grandchildren, Chris (Lisa), Carrie (Tony), Joey (Charmane), Shawn (Lisa), Tissy (Brian), Tina (Wayne), Chad (Misty), Nicole, Tyler and Adam; and many great grandchildren, several great-great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her former husbands, Clarence Chambers; her partner, Donald Poole; and a son in infancy.

There will be no visitation at the funeral home by request. Memorial service was held 1 p.m., Monday, January 5, 2026, in Sweeny’s Funeral Home, 35 York Street, Bridgewater. Rev. Willis Ott officiating. A reception followed in the funeral home. Burial will take place at a later date. Family flowers only please, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or South Shore Regional Hospital Foundation.
