95, of Lunenburg passed away on Tuesday, November. 5, 2024 at MacLeod Cares 

Mahone Bay Nursing Home.

Born in Lunenburg, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Wilhelmina (Birch) Hubley.


Dorothy lived most of her life in Lunenburg. She worked at the Fish Plant as a young woman, then went on to marry and raise her family. She was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 23, Ladies Auxiliary, Lunenburg and had recently received her 60th year pin.


Dorothy was predeceased by her son, Norman (1979) and her husband, Gordon (2021).
She is survived by daughter, Janet, Deans Corner and son, David, Back Centre; grandchildren, Holly, 

Blake, Ashley and Cody; great grandchildren, Emma, Masyn, Mekaila and Wesley. 

Dorothy was the last surviving member of her immediate family.


Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Dana L. Sweeny Funeral Home, 11213, Hwy 3, 

Lunenburg. Visitation will take place at the Funeral Home on Friday, November. 8, 2024, 

from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., with a funeral service being held on Saturday, November 9, 2024, 

at 11 a.m. Rev. Tom Summers officiating. Interment at Hillcrest Cemetery, 

Lunenburg.


In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Canadian 

Cancer Society.
