MARRINER

Nan (Nancy Joan) Marriner, 80, of Maders Cove, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 27, 2025, at home.
 
Born in Halifax, she was the daughter of Harry (“Ted”) and Doris (Strum) Millett. 
 
After raising her family and completing her professional life in Ontario, in 1996 Nan and her husband of 60 years, Paul, returned to her ancestral home in Maders Cove. There, she pursued her passions for pottery, rug hooking, and osprey-spotting over her beloved bay.

She will be greatly missed by her husband, Paul; children Taralee (Philip) Hammond, Halifax; James (Shelly) Marriner, Ottawa; Susan “Sunny” Marriner, Mahone Bay; and grandchildren, Alex, Ben, Nathan, and Grace. Nan was predeceased by her older brother, David, and is also survived by siblings, Paul (Anne) Millett, Elizabeth (Jon) Williams, Penny (Carl) Dexter, Judy (John) Millett and Patricia (Dennis) Maynard, all of Dartmouth.              
 
Arrangements are under the direction of the Dana L. Sweeny Funeral Home, 11213, Hwy 3, Lunenburg.  As per her wishes there will be no service.
 
Memorial donations may be made to the Health Services Foundation of the South Shore.
