MARTEL, Catherine"Babe" Madeline Helena - Age 84, of Chester, died Sunday, June 21st 2026, surrounded by her loving family.

She was predeceased by her parents, James & Helen Forhan. Babe is survived by her devoted husband William Gary "Marty"; her five children, Lee (Harold "Hermie"), Lorie (Lorne), Sherry, Carrie (Gary), Trent (Norma Jean); as well; as well, three sisters, Barbara, Elizabeth, and Linda; eleven grandchildren Amy, Gary "Bam", Amanda, Tasha, Treena, Mark, Megan, Andrew, Samantha, Haley, Chloe; and nine great-grandchildren Cole, Seth, Kori, Ainsley, Molly, Maggie, Liam, Cohen and Lily.

In 1960, Babe married her beloved husband, Marty. Together they established a life rooted in love and were blessed with their large family. Being a Mom, Nanny, and Nanu brought her immeasurable joy. She always displayed a vibrant, fun and creative spirit while sharing her love of crafts, ceramics, bingo and playing cards with family and friends. Her baking and passing on her recipes was one of her true joys of life that always filled the kitchen with laughter and forever memories.

A celebration of life will be held at the Chester Legion Branch 44, where Babe was a lifetime member, on September 20th 2026 at 2:00pm.
