Age 65, of New Germany. It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Carol Mattea on Saturday August 23, 2025, at the South Shore Regional Hospital, NS, after a courageous battle with cancer.  She was the beloved partner of David Daniels.

Carol is survived by her daughter, Mary; and grandsons, Joshua, Michael and Jacob. She will be greatly missed by her sisters, nieces, nephews, and extended family. She was predeceased by her mother, Palma Mattea and daughter, Teresa (Mattea) Antunes.

Carol was born in Toronto, Ontario, where she lived most of her life until moving to Nova Scotia in 2012, with her partner, David. Her favourite past times were playing bingo, creating beautiful crafts and travelling. She was a big supporter of the Walden Volunteer Fire Department. Carol was a kind, loving person who always had a smile on her face, no matter what challenges she faced.

With respect for Carol’s wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation or service.  A private internment was held at the Parkdale Cemetery, NS. Donations in Carol’s memory can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
