MOSSMAN
Robert Earl (Bob)
January 6, 2026

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Robert Earl (Bob) Mossman, 90, of Centre, Lunenburg Co. who left us on January 6, 2026, at Valley Regional Hospital, with his family by his side. Born on August 29, 1935, in Bridgewater N.S., Bob was a son of the late Maurice and Sadie (Veinotte) Mossman.
Bob began his working life as a fuel truck driver for White Rose Gasoline. He was subsequently hired as Manager of Bluenose Lanes, in Lunenburg, and drove a school bus part time for Centre Consolidated School, next to his home. Later, he took a job in Payroll, with Michelin Canada in Bridgewater, retiring from Michelin as a Supervisor in the Preparation Dept. After retiring from Michelin, he managed the bulk fuel depot for Irving Oil in Lunenburg for several years. Bob was well known for being a self-taught jack of all trades, able to fix pretty much anything and was always willing to help friends and family nearby. He was a skilled carpenter and made several furniture pieces for his family, as well as a two-story garage on his property to store all his tools and machinery. Cars and vehicles were a passion, and he took pride in his ability to repair and maintain them. He was a member of the Grace Lutheran Church, First South.
Bob had a deep love and devotion for his family. Family time was his favourite time. He especially enjoyed large family gatherings around a big meal for holidays and celebrations.
Bob will be deeply missed by his wife of 69 years, Barbara (Dares), his son Kevin (Allison), daughter Darlene (Jean Marc) Nicolas; grandchildren Holly, Daniel, Matthew and Rachel: great grandchildren Jacob, Laila, Sage and River. Besides his parents, Bob was predeceased by his sister Phyllis and brothers Hector and Ronald.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to The Canadian Cancer Society.
A family celebration of life will be held at a later date. Other arrangements have been entrusted to Dana L Sweeny Funeral Home.
