NAUSS
Carol Andrea
December 16, 2025

83, passed away Tuesday, December 16th, 2025, at her home in Chester surrounded by her family who adored her.
Carol was the daughter of Herman Mitchell Walker and Phyllis Rachel Redden.
Carol was a school teacher for 35 years starting her career in a one room school in East River at the age of 18 and taught primary to grade 5 at different schools throughout Chester Municipality. It was a career she enjoyed and was recognized by the Canadian Government for her instrumental work of introducing computers to classrooms before they were considered a necessary household item. This is just one of the many awards and recognitions she received throughout her lifetime, Carol was a humble woman and truly would be embarrassed by the attention, she would not like us to brag! She took her responsibilities to her community seriously as many who knew her can attest.
In retirement she nursed with love and compassion her mother, mother-in-law and husband through Alzheimer's and was a great source of information to those who were also caregivers. Over the years she was interested in many things but her passions were her church and the Chester Municipal Heritage Society (CMHS). She was the President CMHS and tirelessly worked in this volunteer position; 30-50 hours a week would not be an exaggeration.
However her most important work was ensuring her family was loved and supported in their lives and we will desperately miss her as we loved her as she did us.
She is survived by her daughter Patricia Connors (Tom), grandsons Tom Paul and William (Simone); son Daniel Nauss (Gloria) granddaughters Danielle (Ryan) and Rachel. She was predeceased by her husband Donald and brother Chris Walker.
Our mother left a letter for our family and we share a small piece of that with you:
“If you are reading this KNOWthat I am winging my may to heaven. Although I know you are sad, try to remember the good times in our lives and my time with you.”
