NAUSS

Earl Harvey

July 26, 2026

NAUSS

69, of Kingsville, Ontario, formerly of Blockhouse, Nova Scotia, passed away peacefully at his home in the early morning hours of Sunday July 26, 2026.

Earl tried his hand on the fishing boats, like his brothers, but soon found it wasn’t the life for him. He worked at Elmer Lohnes sawmill in Wileville with his step father, and then went on to work at the Lunenburg Foundry, where he took pride in his work. Unfortunately winter got the best of him when an injury from a slip and fall on the ice made it impossible to work. Earl found the love of his life through the internet; I know it sounds cliché, but true. This took him to Ontario where he was happy with Melodie and their dog Coco. Unfortunately another blow hit when Melodie passed away unexpectedly in 2024. This left Earl absolutely lost and heartbroken. They are now, once again, together.

Earl is survived by his mother, Lily Veinotte of Bridgewater, formerly of Kentville; his sisters, Diana (Albert) Caines of Blockhouse and Jane (Brenton) Dorey of Hebbville; his brother, Gordon Nauss (Joanne Ullock) of Blockhouse; and many cherished nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by the love of his life, Melodie Allen, his maternal grandparents, Laliah and Fred Frank; his father, Nearus Nauss; his stepfather, Frankie Veinotte; his sister, Violet Swinimer; and his brothers, Ernie Nauss and Zedrick (Ted) Nauss.

Cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation or funeral service. A celebration of his life will be held once his ashes have been returned home to Nova Scotia. Details will be announced at a later date.

Memorial donations can be made to The Heart & Stroke Foundation or Diabetes Canada, or charity of your choice.
