With loving memories of a life well lived, the family of Paul Stanley Nauss of Hammonds Plains, announce his passing on Wednesday, January 7, 2026, at the Halifax Infirmary.


Paul was born in Bridgewater on April 9, 1951, and grew up in Riverport, the son of the late Stanley and Madge (Myra) Nauss.


He was a member of Trinity United Church, Rose Bay where he faithfully served on the Board of Session and as Pastoral Charge Treasurer for 32 years. Paul was an adherent of Bedford United Church where he also served on the Refugee Committee and was treasurer of Beacon House.


As a financial advisor, Paul worked for many years with Ramey Investments, Dartmouth and then Assante Wealth Management.


Both Paul and Joan enjoyed Ballroom dancing and loved serving on the Executive of the Corté Dance Club. Other leisure activities included camping, gardening and travelling.


He is survived by his wife, Joan Craig-Nauss; sister Joan Nauss, Riverport; stepsons, Alexander “Sandy” (Amy) Romans, Hammonds Plains, Joshua (Sarah) Romans, Brookside; grandchildren, Payton and Riley and mother-in-law, Eva Craig, Bedford.


Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the Dana L. Sweeny Funeral Home, 11213 Hwy 3, Lunenburg. A service to celebrate Paul’s life was held on Tuesday, January 13, 2026, at 11:00 am from Trinity United Church, Rose Bay, Rev. Katie Logan officiated. Interment in Oakridge Memorial Gardens on the Old Sackville Road.
