ROE

With profoundly heavy hearts, the Roe family of Blue Rocks, NS, southern Ontario and Hertfordshire, UK, are saddened to share news of the sudden passing of Linda Marlene Roe (b. 1947), the afternoon of July 19, 2024, at Bridgewater Hospital surrounded by members of her immediate family.

Widely known to residents of and visitors to Lunenburg and Blue Rocks since 2008, Linda exuded a selfless, welcoming light that drew people to her – as well as her inspired works of art. Linda’s artistic contributions to her South Shore Nova Scotian community, and those of Burlington and Georgetown, ON, will forever be cherished and remembered; her serious and whimsical art graces homes and business walls alike, worldwide; her self-taught, award-winning talents and experiences were shared with appreciative, budding artists of all ages. Her singing voice contributed beautifully to many a choir and household kitchen.

Linda’s love and generosity of spirit and unfailing support will be dearly missed by husband and soul-mate Peter Roe, Blue Rocks, NS; sister Gloria Waters, Kemptville, ON; former husband, John Roe, Mississauga, ON; sons Peter (Kim Speer), David (Leanne Boubert), and Michael Roe, ON; nieces Ailsa and Helen, UK; Erica, Marida, Julie, ON; nephews Scott and Paul, ON; grandchildren Marcus (Olivia), AB; Austin (Alyssa), Libby and Kayla, ON; Amélie and Charlotte; Aidan and Aurelia, UK; and great-grandchildren, Autumn and Isaac, AB, and Lucas and Evalynn, ON.

Linda was predeceased by father Herb, mother Eileen and brother Rod Seville, ON – all of whom likely greeted her warmly upon leaving our physical world so unexpectedly.

Linda’s family wishes to acknowledge and thanks Drs. Haidar, Lunenburg, Fraser, Stoddart and Weagle, Bridgewater, and the caring, compassionate staff of the South Shore Regional Hospital for doing their utmost best seeing to her comfort.

In honour of Linda’s commitment towards the South Shore Hospice Palliative Care Society, contributions in her memory would be greatly appreciated, in lieu of flowers.

Thank you for gracing our lives and those who knew you for shorter periods. We know you will walk, paint and sing with us forever in loving spirit.
