Eric Ralph Stringer (April 13, 1950- November 2, 2025)


Eric Ralph Stringer, 75 passed away suddenly on November 2, 2025.


Born in Caplin Cove (Trinity Bay), Newfoundland, to parents Eric and Muriel (Drodge), he carried his Newfoundland roots proudly throughout his life.  Ever the adventurer, he met his wife while working in Nunavut and spent many years working in the mining industry in Alberta and British Columbia before settling in Nova Scotia in 1983 where he worked in road construction.


Known for his quick wit, Eric was always ready with a joke, a smile and to offer a helping hand. A lifelong hockey fan; he played, coached and refereed and in later years enjoyed walking the local trails and gardening.


Survived by wife Judy, daughter Katrina, son Paul (Michelle) and grand-daughter Brooke, brother Randy (Jennifer) Stringer, sister Alice (Eldon) Vey, sister-in-law Blanche Stringer and numerous nieces and nephews who knew him fondly as Uncle Ralph.


He is predeceased by brothers Armine Stringer, Earl and John Haffen.

A private memorial will be held at a later date. Donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, Heart and Stroke Foundation, an animal rescue, or charity of choice.
