TANNER - It is with a profound sense of sadness that the family of Patricia “Patty” Annette Tanner, 83, of Bridgewater, share the news of her passing on Sunday, March 2, 2025, at home.

Born August 9, 1941, in Eastern Points, Patty was a daughter of the late Fred Tanner and Marion (Mason) Tanner.

Patty had an amazing life filled with family and travel. After moving to the mainland from Eastern Points, she began working her first job at Fultons Pharmacy, Lunenburg NS. She went on to live all over the world as a military wife, including New Brunswick, Ontario, Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta, Labrador, and even Germany. She eventually settled back home in Bridgewater NS.

She was a dedicated member of the St. Johns Anglican Church “ACW” for over 30 years, as well as part of the Choir and Chancel Guild, before fully retiring around 2020. She organized many receptions, chowder luncheons, and the strawberry cheesecake booth at the Lunenburg craft show.

She enjoyed many trips over the years with family to Dominican, Jamaica, and Cuba. But her favourite places were Holland and Hawaii.

Patty was an amazing cook whose meals can never be replaced. She will be remembered for her coconut cream and lemon meringue pies and her famous whipped shortbreads that she made every Christmas.

She was a devoted wife, supportive mother, and grandmother/ great-grandmother who loved unconditionally.

Patty leaves behind her husband of 63 years, Andrew. She will be deeply missed by her son, Michael (Jackie) of Centre; her adored granddaughters, Jenna Tanner (Bryan) Robicheau of Rhodes Corner and Bria (Jeremy) Stevens of Meaghers Grant; her treasured great-grandchildren, Emerson Murphy-Tanner, Weston and Fenton Robicheau, and Tanner and Owen Stevens. She is also survived by her loving sisters, Sharon Green of Lunenburg, Paulette (Ernest) Symes of Sweetland, and Viola (James) Green of Lunenburg, as well as many cherished nieces and nephews.

A memorial service to celebrate Patty’s life will be held at St. John’s Anglican Church, Lunenburg at a later date, with a private family interment to follow at Upper Blue Rocks Cemetery, Blue Rocks. Rev. Dr. Dawna Wall officiating. Arrangements entrusted to Personal Care Cremations.

Donations to the IWK Foundation or St. John’s Anglican Church, Lunenburg or a charity of your choice would be greatly appreciated by the family.
