We are heartbroken to announce the passing of Anna Marie Umlah at the Caritas Residence in Bedford Nova Scotia on Saturday, February. 1, 2025. Anna was born May. 23,1930, in Queensland Nova Scotia, to Erma Round (Spencer) and Joseph Round. She was predeceased by husband Donnie Umlah in 2002 and sister Joan Crosby.
She is survived by daughter Wendy Ann Richardson (Vigna)(Peter) of Oakville, Ontario, and son Terry Richardson (Betty) of Rothesay New Brunswick.
Survived by 4 granddaughters, Emily Ann Vigna (Tony Korakas) of Burlington, Ontario, and Amy Vigna of Oakville Ontario, Beth Richardson (Glen Creamer) of St. John, New Brunswick and Heather Baker (Scott) of Beaver Bank, Nova Scotia. Survived by 5 great-grandchildren, Evangeline and Mateo Korakas, Cole and Carson Baker and Reilly Creamer.
Anna lived most of her life in Queensland, walking Queensland Beach at least 4 times a day. She delivered Meals On Wheels to the local community for many years. She was a member of St. Luke’s Anglican Church in Hubbards, and she was a member of the Brittle Bones Skating Club. She once told me that she taught all the local children how to skate! She had many friends in the area and every summer she would host a huge BBQ in her yard. See will be missed!
Thank you to Allison, Jane, and Kingsley Ramsey for all their visits to the nursing home to spend time with her. Thank you to Terry and Pam Goodwin for being so kind to her. Thank you, Terry, for taking your guitar and sitting on her deck with her and playing and singing all her favorite songs, especially Take Me Home, Country Roads!
No service at her request. Cremation has already taken place.
