VEINOT

It is with broken hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Alan Neil Veinot, on July 26, 2026, at home, surrounded by love.

Born on July 14, 1953, Alan was a hardworking man who spent his entire career working on the railway. He was stubborn, strong, and one hell of a fighter, but underneath it all, he was a man who loved his family deeply.

Alan was a proud father to his twin daughters, Nicole Ling (Darrell) and Angie Cavicchi (Brent), and his son, Chris MacNeil. He was an even prouder Grampy to his four grandchildren, Cameron, Emma, Nathan, and Matthew. His grandchildren held a very special place in his heart, and the memories they made will be carried with them forever.

He leaves behind his wife, Nancy Veinot, who stood by his side with unconditional love and care. Alan was predeceased by his late wife, Renee Veinot, his father, Nobel Veinot, and his sister, Kathy Maughan. He is survived by his mother, Isabel Veinot (Joudrey), and his siblings, Glenwood Veinot (Rose) and Debra Pond (Dwight).

Anyone who knew Alan knew the things he loved. Give him a fishing rod, his tractor, a cold Keith’s, or something Mopar, and he was a happy man. He loved his Dodges, loved being outdoors, and could usually be found tinkering with something, buying multiples of things he probably only needed one of, or dealing with his famously bad luck when something broke.

Alan was more than a husband, Dad, and Grampy. He was a best friend, a source of countless stories, laughs, good memories, and even a few bad ones that we can laugh about now. Our hearts are shattered, and there truly aren’t enough words to describe the hole his passing has left behind. We are so grateful for every moment with him, every fishing story, every laugh, and every memory. We will miss you more than words could ever say. Until we meet again. We hope the fish are biting, the tractor is running, the Keith’s is cold, and there’s a Dodge waiting for you. 

A private service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society in Alan’s memory.
