VEINOTTE

Errol Veinotte, 86, of Mahone Bay, passed away peacefully at South Shore Regional Hospital on Saturday, April 19, 2025. He is survived by his wife Patricia; daughter, Bonnie (Joel Irving); daughter-in-law, Laura and grandchildren, Olivia, Chelsey and Isabella. He is also survived by his two brothers, John-David Veinotte and Granville (Chip) Veinotte and his mother, Grace Veinotte (104 years of age). He was pre-deceased by his son, Barry Veinotte and his father, Walter Owen Veinotte. Errol grew up in Lunenburg as a young man and served 8 years in the Royal Canadian Navy. After starting his family, he returned home and worked as the manager of the NSLC, Mahone Bay. Errol was a dedicated member of the Mahone Bay and Area Lion’s Club and was awarded a Life Membership in 1995. Errol was also a former Councillor for the Town Mahone Bay. Errol (Gramps / Gampy, Sonny) always had a positive outlook on life and a smile on his face. He liked the challenge of finding a solution to any problem, big or small. He enjoyed spending time with his family and having family dinners, especially a lobster dinner. Errol looked forward to the annual, week long, fishing trips (20 year long family tradition), with his two brothers, every spring in North Queens County. We will miss you and carry you with us, in our hearts and will remember you with all of our love. A visitation will be held at the Mahone Funeral Home, 32 Parish St., Mahone Bay, from 1:00pm to 3:00pm, Sunday, May 4, 2025. Memorial donations made to the Health Services Foundation of the South Shore, Trinity United Church, Mahone Bay or a charity of your choice, would be greatly appreciated.
