Marguerite Ada Louise Voegelin of Ingersoll, ON (formally of LaHave, N.S.) passed away peacefully with her daughter by her side on Feb. 3, 2026 at Woodingford Lodge in Ingersoll.
Born in LaHave on April 29, 1930, Marguerite was the daughter of Allan and Roberta (Richard) Creaser. She was the devoted wife of the late Gordon Rhodes Himmelman (d.1986) and the late Belford E. Voegelin (d.2013).
Dear mother of Donna Swatridge of Ingersoll, ON and grandmother of Luke (Chelsea) of Ingersoll and Laura of Halifax, N.S., and great grandmother of Austin.
She will be fondly remembered by cousin David Richard (Anna) and the Voegelin family.
Marguerite was a graduate of Mount Allison University in the Secretarial program and over the years had careers as a secretary, stay-at-home mom, owner/bookkeeper of her family’s business, J.F. Creaser Co. Ltd., post mistress, and restaurant hostess at Dublin Bay House. She lived her life caring for her family and in service to her community.
Marguerite had many talents. She created pressed flower greeting cards and gift wrapping that were works of art. She was a skilled baker – her birthday cakes and butterscotch pies were family favourites. She was an avid bridge player and enjoyed bowling and golf.
She will best be remembered for her infectious giggle and sweet smile. She loved the beautiful LaHave River and will be coming home to be buried at Fort Point Cemetery in LaHave at a later date.
Memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, the LaHave United Church, or charity of your choice.
