WILLIAMS
Gayle Starr
August 1, 2026

Born in Bridgewater, Nova Scotia on November 8th, 1950. She sadly passed away peacefully on Saturday August 1st, 2026, at the QEII in Halifax after a long battle with heart disease and COPD, surrounded by her loving, immediate family.
Gayle is pre-deceased by her parents, Marjorie and Nelson Knox, as well as her loving sister, Peggy Williams. She will be sadly missed by her husband, Eugene Williams, her daughter, Cherie Lynn Stone, her Grandchildren, Conner Patrick Fensham and Samantha Angelica, (Stone) Firth.
She also leaves behind a stepson, Billy Williams and two step-grandchildren, Tyler and Alexander.
A new Great-Grandson will be born this coming September 2026, name to be chosen upon birth by his mother, Samantha.
Gayle loved fast exhibition rides, the ocean, going on car trips, baking, movies, reading, and some of her favourite TV programs included: Storage Wars, The Big Bang Theory and Buffy The Vampire Slayer. She spent her early working life at the Lunenburg Fish plant as a scallop packer for many years before getting a job as a dietary aide at Hillside Pines in Bridgewater, N.S.
A little later in life, she took great pride in running her own video/confectionery store in Conquerall Mills N.S. for a few years before moving her operation to Blockhouse where she and her husband ran a gas station, garage and store. After the store was closed due to a gas leak, they started business together with a three-bay garage in Lilydale, near Lunenburg where they worked side-by-side until their retirement.
Gayle chose cremation and will be laid to rest in The Brookside Cemetery in Bridgewater N.S. Also, to her wishes, there will be no funeral, but a celebration of life will be held at a later date, to be announced.
The family thanks all who gave and will give condolences, they mean a lot in the hearts of Gayle’s loved ones.
Arrangements are under the direction of the R.A. Corkum Funeral Home, Wileville. Online condolences may be made by visiting www.corkumfuneralhome.ca
