John “Johnny” Richard, Sr
September 7, 2024

John Richard Zinck, Sr., 79, of Bridgewater, passed away September 7, 2024, at South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater.
Born in Bridgewater, he was the son of the late William “Billy” and Mabel (Weagle) Zinck.

Being chief cook continued for him all over the world on the shrimp boats in his later career. In between, he worked as a paving foreman in both Nova Scotia and in western Canada. Over the years in his spare time, he enjoyed darts at the Traveler's Club and the Legion Branch 24, and loved to cook for friends, neighbours, and family, including his famous brown bread baked in juice cans, and his spaghetti sauce and chili.
John is survived by his wife, Sharon; his son, John; his sisters Linda (MacDonald) and June "Junie" Zinck and his brother, James "Jim" Zinck.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Dana L. Sweeny Funeral Home, 11213 Highway 3, Lunenburg. A family burial will be held at a later date.
