ZWICKER

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Kenneth James Zwicker, age 84, on October 12th, 2025, at South Shore Regional Hospital, surrounded by his loving family.

Born on February 2, 1941, to George and Nettie Zwicker, Ken grew up in Chester Basin and worked as a carpenter by trade. He married the love of his life, Lena, and together they shared 59 years of marriage, standing by each other in sickness and in health. Ken loved the outdoors and was always ready for a good game of cards.

Ken was a devoted member of Clark’s Lodge 61, where he was proudly recognized with his 50-year medal for his many years of service.

He will be forever loved and deeply missed by his wife Lena; his children Blaine (Michelle), James (Sharon), and Julie (Jason); his grandchildren Andrew, Alyssa, Emily, Victoria, and Ethan; and his great-grandchildren Isla, Cade, and Henley. He is also survived by his siblings Roy (Linda), Wayne (Sandra), Ira, Linda (Garnet), and June.

Ken was predeceased by his brothers Donnie (Jean) and Laurie (Sandy), and sisters Sally (Lenn) and Lil (Roy).

A Celebration of Ken’s Life will be held on November 1, 2025, at 11 a.m. at Grace Anglican Church, Chester Basin. Refreshments will follow. A private burial will take place at a later date.

We would like to thank the staff and nurses at South Shore Regional Hospital for their compassionate care. Special thanks go to niece Darlene and brother Wayne for their unwavering support and kindness during Ken’s time of need. The family also extends heartfelt appreciation to Lynn Key and the exceptional team at Heart to Heart Home Care, who went above and beyond in caring for Ken throughout the past year.
