BRIDGEWATER – The South Shore Jr. B Lumberjacks dropped their first game of 2026, a 4-2 loss at home Jan. 3 against the Eskasoni Jr. Eagles who sit on top of the Sid Rowe division with a 14-7 record.

BRIDGEWATER – The Park View Girls’ Div. 1 soccer team was loaded with talent this season, three years in the making, and that led to a second straight provincial championship in Sydney over the Nov. 7-9 weekend.

PLEASANTVILLE – Park View graduate (2025) Zoe Mosher recently earned a spot on Team Canada that will compete in the World Athletics Cross Country championships in Tallahassee, Florida next month, in the 6 K event.

LIVERPOOL – Dec. 6 was slated as Curling Day in Nova Scotia, a good reason to celebrate the great game.

PLEASANTVILLE – Teacher Frauke Haarmann, 55 of Hamburg, Germany recently travelled from Vancouver to Pleasantville, Nova Scotia.

UPPER LAHAVE – William Nowe, the 17-year-old son of Shauna and Darren, loves sports, which may actually be an understatement.

BRIDGEWATER – The South Shore I.C.E. Storm sledge hockey team successfully defended their home tournament title on the weekend.

The Lunenburg County Sport Heritage Society held their gala induction event Nov. 2 at the Lunenburg County Lifestyle Centre. This year’s inductees included David Walker and Lisa Ross in the Athlete category; the team of Gerald Mossman and Sonny Heisler in the Team Category; David Penn and Theodore Veinot in the Builder Category.
