The South Shore Lumberjacks hosted the Sackville Blazers Saturday in front of a large home-town crowd, and fell just a little short, losing 5-4 in a shootout.

BRIDGEWATER – By all accounts, Dylan Chaput was a fun-loving student who enjoyed making people laugh and playing the game of basketball at Bridgewater Junior High School.

If you’re thinking about entering a triathlon next summer, now’s a good time to start training. I’m 68 years old and am looking at a sprint for May and an Olympic distance triathlon later in the summer. Not bad for someone who was nicknamed “creampuff” in junior high, never made a sports team she tried out for, and only ever “won” a medal for showing up at the start line, plodding along in first gear, and crossing the finish line all on the same day.

LIVERPOOL – The 16-team field has been set for the 2025 Canadian mixed doubles curling trials that will be held in Liverpool at Queens Place Emera Centre Dec. 30, 2024 to Jan. 4, 2025.

The South Shore Schooners have improved their record to 6-6-3-1, good enough for third place in the Nova Scotia Regional Hockey League.

BRIDGEWATER – The South Shore Lumberjacks won back-to-back games this past weekend and heading into the Christmas break they stand with a record of eight wins, nine losses and one shootout victory for 18 points and good enough for fourth place in the Fred Fox division.
